Norcross High Footballers Fall Hard on National ESPN Stage
Booker T. Washington High trounced the Blue Devils, 55-0.
In a nationally televised game, Norcross High Blue Devils failed to gain even one point against Florida's Booker T. Washington High.
Norcross High loss the match 0-55 -- a dismal showing for the state's reigning Class 6A champs.
The game was televised on ESPN, as part of the network's annual High School Football Kickoff Series. It took place at the Blue Devils' stomping grounds in Norcross.
It was the first time that Georgia had teams in the kickoff series, and this year two team from Gwinnett -- Norcross High and South Gwinnett High -- played.
In the South Gwinnett High game, the Comets lost to Lincoln High of Florida. The final score: 34-21.
