On the article Duluth To Gain Students From Peachtree Ridge Cluster

ReplyIf I remember correctly, when Peachtree Ridge opened, Collins Hill students were allowed to decide if they wanted to finish out the year at Collins Hill or switch to Ridge. Perhaps the same thing will be allowed for this change?
In the end, I truly believe that a child will do well in school with the help of parents that support them. There are good teachers at both schools, as well as good sports programs, and good and bad students. As far as rankings go, depending on the publication, the argument could be made for either school. As long as the parents keep a positive attitude and a cool head, our children will learn to adjust and still be able to do well.

ReplyI wonder how it will affect students who are already in high school? If they are made to move from one to another, how will the credits transfer? Peachtree Ridge is on block schedule and Duluth is not, so it really would require a lot of adjusting for the affected students.

ReplySadly, even more evidence of the violence against teens happened in Clayton County this week when a 15 year old shot his 16 year old girlfriend. The girl passed away and the boy is being held in prison after confessing. Two lives forever changed senselessly. In interviews of friends, one young girl said that the boy " really , really loved her." What would you do if your teen daughter was in a relationship that seemed too passionate?

ReplyI think it is an immensely personal choice to video or not video the birth of a child. I have 4 children and have packed the camera each time with the hopes to take video. Labor went by so fast, we never had a chance to pull it out, but I do wish I had record of it to add to the baby books, ultrasound pics, and first lock of hair from the haircut that will be passed on to each child.
As far as lawsuits, if the doctors observe proper procedure during delivery and labor, there should be no fear of the camera. A happy mom is not going to watch the video later for a normal delivery with a healthy baby and look for reasons to sue her doctor. If your doctor is worried about that, I would look for a new doctor.
