A long-time resident of the great state of Georgia, John Colegrove provides hometown investment advice in Peachtree Corners, where he resides.
Married for 16 years, his wife, Ruthie, is the middle school band director at Wesleyan School. John and Ruthie have two children. Active in the community, he has served on various Boards of Directors, most recently helping to raise funds to build the new UGA Redcoat Band practice complex. John also teaches the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University Class through his Church. He enjoys swimming, biking, baseball, and football and he is an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, Gwinnett Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Music Educator and Performer:
Prior to his financial planning career, John was a music educator and professional musician. He still enjoys playing the trombone and has performed with many ensembles over the years, notably the Manhattan Transfer, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, solo performances with the Notre Dame Concert Band, and other local concert bands, marching bands, and orchestras. He also taught music at the University of Notre Dame, Wake Forest University, UNC Greensboro, and Athens Academy. In the Spring of 2011, John most recently played trombone as a member of the orchestra for the Broadway hit: Seussical, performed at the Wesleyan School in Norcross.
John is in his 12th year in the financial planning profession. He is a proud small businessman and has owned his practice since 2001. He is a Financial Advisor and Registered Principal through LPL Financial. Keenly aware of the high level of trust his client's place in his advice, John is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designee. He is a recognized specialist in 401k and retirement planning, and in 2009, he was recognized by his peers and asked to present at the Boston Retirement Symposium and for the Retirement Plan panel at the LPL National Conference, held in San Diego. John holds a Doctorate from UNC Greensboro (1999), a Masters from the University of Notre Dame (1995), and a Bachelor’s from the University of Georgia (1993).
