I found Gone Girl to be brilliant. I couldn't put it down, and as soon as I'd finished, I ran out to get her first two book, which I devoured. (The first is ok, but the second was wonderful. You can see her develop as a writer with each book.) However, Gone Girl is a masterpiece in my humble opinion. I really don't care how wealthy the people were (and they weren't by mid-way through the book) although I will admit they were not someone I would be friends with. But as far as originality and inventiveness, I thought Gone Girl was well worth reading. I can't wait for her next one.
