Doug Heckman is a retired Colonel in the US Army Special Forces.  He served almost 3 years in Afghanistan and Iraq. He ran unsuccessfully for the US Congress (7th District) as a Democrat in Gwinnett County - twice.  He is married to Pat and has a daughter at Norcross High School.  He has 2 sons at West Point.  His family has lived in Gwinnett County for 21 years.
