Arlene P. Beckles, MPM, PMP

Ms. Beckles is the Past Outreach Chair for the Norcross Arts Alliance. This organization caters to enhancing the arts in the Norcross community.  In 2009, she was appointed by the Mayor and Council as the Chair of the Imagination Committee.  This Committee is responsible for maintaining the culture of Norcross in the area of Arts, Signage and Community.  She is also on the Advisory Board of Gwinnett Neighborhood Leadership Institute, a premier grassroots community leadership program for inspiring civic engagement and community improvement in the State of Georgia.  Ms. Beckles is also involved with a number of other civic and community initiatives.

Ms. Beckles is originally from the island of Barbados and resides in Norcross with her 11 year old daughter Nyasia.

In her professional life, Ms. Beckles is a Project Manager/Quality Analyst for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS).  In this capacity, she is responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance and Project Management.  Since Ms. Beckles joined TBS, Inc. in 2003, she has been involved in project launches both domestic and international.  Prior to her current position with TBS, Inc., Ms. Beckles was an Independent Consultant facilitating company projects involving Project Management, and Quality Assurance Management.

Ms. Beckles began her professional career as a Systems Analyst with Bankers Trust. She then assumed the role of a Quality Assurance Lead Engineer with Instinet Corporation, where she was instrumental in the implementation of their Order Management System both in New York and London.

Ms. Beckles earned her Bachelor’s degree with concentrations in Computer Science and Management at The City University of New York (CUNY) and her Masters in Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management.  She is a Project Management Professional, holding a PMI certification.   Ms. Beckles is currently pursuing her PhD in Public Administration.  She is involved in various professional organizations, including the Project Management Institute - Atlanta Chapter.  Ms. Beckles is an Alumnus of The Metropolitan United Way Volunteer Involvement Program, and the Gwinnett Neighborhood Leadership Institute.
