Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Patch's own, Sally Toole, and Donna Blanton put on an awesome storytime at 45 South Cafe. This week was no different. For the celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday and the annual Read Across America event, Toole read several Seuss Books that included favorites like "Hop on Pop" and "Fox in Socks."

Aquatics fitness program promotes a healthier lifestyle and mindset.
In order to find a fitness program that you will stick with and reach goals, the MayoClinic website recommends, "Think about your fitness likes and dislikes, and note your personal barriers to fitness." We jump to raise the heart rate, and water affords safety while getting a good work out," said Castellano. "I have stroke victims in my class as well as people with arthritis. Their coordination is enhanced and they can balance. It's very fulfilling for me to see." Castellano has been a certified aquatics teacher for 26 years and has been at …

Georgia's own General Beauregard Lee predicted an early spring on when he couldn't spot his shadow on Groundhog Day. In between the lingering winter weather, Norcross residents have enjoyed the warmer days on the playground in Thrasher Park. The photos this week remind us that spring is just around the corner.

Each week we'll focus our camera lens on popular places and events in and around Norcross.
Amelia Earhart, famous pilot and Amelia Watson, Norcross High School student both have something in common besides their first names. They are both pioneer women. Where Earhart earned recognition as the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, Watson has earned recognition in founding the race to raise funds to benefit the track and field program at her high school. Amelia Watson, daughter of Cliff Watson and Sonja Rasmussen, began her running career about the age of four and has been running ever since. As a high school junior, she foresaw the need to raise funds for the cross country, track and field programs so she ran with the idea. (pun intended) After seeing 256 participants of all ages check in today for the 5K run in the…

A local coffee house is part of the city's fabric.
Norcross's 45 South Cafe is a place to kick back, relax and have good conversation friends. The ambiance sets the mood. Art hangs from every wall, and the sweet aroma of coffee and treats fill the room. It's not just a coffeeshop, it's a part of Norcross.
