Viewfinder: Sparkle! in Downtown Norcross

Last Friday was filled with Santa, hot chocolate, Christmas movies and more.

Historic Downtown Norcross was filled with holiday cheer last Friday during the kickoff of the city's Sparkle! event. Santa took photos with the kids, horse-drawn carriages were available, the Norcross First United Methodist Church choir sang Christmas classics, and the big Christmas tree in Thrasher Park was lit. Hot chocolate was provided by the Masonic Lodge downtown, and the Norcross Lions Club supplied free cookies to all. Check out the Viewfinder above for the photos Patch snapped of the festive evening. Sparkle! is going on all month, so be sure to check out the event page on A Place to Imagine to see the full schedule. Did you take any photos at the Sparkle event Friday? Sparkle Video Captures Norcross in Winter

A new city video is all about the feel of downtown Norcross when the lights are blinking.

The City of Norcross released a video this week that attempts to capture the feel of downtown in the winter months.  The three-minute video, produced by Tim Suggs and Todd Pringle of Atlanta Idea Studio, will bring back memories of Santa and horse-drawn sleigh rides, despite the unseasonably warm weather of late. Pringle and Yanin Cortez, owner of Mojito's, provide the music for the video.
