Blue Devils Stats: Norcross v. South Gwinnett

The following is a recap of the football game, written by Norcross High assistant football coach Corey Richardson. Last Friday night, your Region 7-AAAAAA Champion Norcross Blue Devils beat the South Gwinnett Comet 27-7. Viewfinder: Norcross Defeats South Gwinnett in Playoffs

The Blue Devils will play against Camden County next Friday.

The Norcross Blue Devils beat the South Gwinnett Comets 27-7 last Friday, Nov. 23, in the second round of football playoffs. Norcross also played South Gwinnett earlier this year in the 2012 season opener at Snellville, and the Blue Devils won 35-20. Norcross High remains undefeated this season with 12 wins. The team's next game will be against the Camden County High Wildcats next Friday, Nov. 30, and it will be determined this Saturday, Nov. 23, if the game will be held at the Blue Devils stadium or at Camden. Playoffs Round 2: South Gwinnett vs. Norcross, GAC vs. Heard Co.

Nine county teams are still alive in the Georgia High School Association playoffs.

Three all-Gwinnett County matchups will highlight second-round games in the Georgia High School Association football playoffs this weekend. In all, a total of nine Gwinnett teams advanced to the second round in three classifications. News Nearby: Hannah Rinehart, Wife of South Gwinnett Teacher Mark Rinehart, Passes Away

After a months-long battle, Hannah Rinehart died this morning at 4:15.

Hannah Rinehart, wife of South Gwinnett math teacher Mark Rinehart, passed away this morning at 4:15 a.m. "She is celebrating," Mark wrote on a Facebook page in her honor, "and I am thankful for God allowing me to have the privilege of being her husband while she was here on this Earth. Family was present, and when Hannah was ready to go, she left quickly." Hannah, 32, was a patient care technician in DeKalb County. She and Mark lived in Decatur.  She contracted a bacterial infection the last weekend of June which resulted in blood poisoning. Complications led to the amputations of both hands and feet, but the biggest challenge was fluid in her lungs. Yesterday, doctors told the family that she was very, very tired. Family of Quadruple Amputee Pleads for School Board Policy Change

Friends and family of South Gwinnett High teacher Hannah Rinehart make a case for creating a sick leave pool during the Gwinnett County School Board meeting, but left with no promises.

Family and friends filled the room as the Rineharts spoke before the Gwinnett County School Board Thursday night, pleading with the board to change the district’s sick leave policy.  Mark Rinehart, Hannah's husband, is a math teacher at South Gwinnett High School in Snellville. He now has a little over 20 days of sick leave left before he loses his pay and his insurance. According to family, that’s not nearly enough time, and so they are asking that the school board allow fellow teachers to donate their paid time off PTO.  Mark's hope is that people will be able to donate their unused PTO to him.
