Lionheart Theatre's 'The Kindness of Strangers' This Weekend

Lionheart Theatre gives a night of Tennessee Williams-inspired shorts.

Lionheart Theatre Company presents a 100th birthday tribute to Pulitzer Prize-winning dramatist Tennessee Williams. Opening this weekend, "The Kindness of Strangers" includes seven short plays written in Williams’ style by five Atlanta playwrights. The play runs at Lionheart Jan. 6-8, with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday’s show at 2 p.m. All seats are $10. “It’s a privilege to honor this steamy Southern writer on our stage,” said Tanya Caldwell, Lionheart’s producing artistic director. “'The Kindness of Strangers' brings together writers, directors, actors and audiences who treasure Tennessee’s brilliant legacy.” The prolific Williams is one of America’s greatest playwrights. Lionheart Theatre Doing David Sedaris Holiday Show

Snellville’s inventive theatre does it again with the new show playing now through the Feb. 27. The cast of characters include six nuns who are like members of a dysfunctional family that only works when something is wrong. The show “Nunsense” itself centers around another “show,” meant to be a fundraiser that the Little Sisters of Hoboken have sketchily planned at best. It seems that the convent cook, Sister Julia, played by Sandi Schein of Decatur, poisoned the nuns that were present one evening with her vichyssoise that felled 52 nuns, of which only 48 were buried. The convent …
