For GAC Students, Technology in the Classroom, 2.0

Following national recognition, Junior and Senior High students trade in their laptops for the sleek Mac Book Air.

Greater Atlanta Christian 10th grader Landon Tabor approached an orderly technology trade-in station yesterday morning, swapping his year-old Apple laptop for a slim, silver Air. His smile told the whole story: He was over the moon.  Without skipping a beat, he opened up his new machine and started clicking around with confidence.  One of the hallmarks of the students, according to administrators, is that they are comfortable teaching themselves new technology—and they have an intuitive understanding of it that is used to engage them in all subjects. Greater Atlanta Christian Schools in Norcross was chosen by Apple as the premier independent “blended” school in the country, meaning they are used as an example when teaching other schools …

Player of the Week: GAC's David McTier

Thanks to a lopsided Greater Atlanta Christian victory, backup QB got a chance to shine.

Norcross Patch Football Honor Roll Player of the Week David McTier/Greater Atlanta Christian One of two things have to happen for the backup quarterback to get a chance to showcase his talents. Either the starter gets injured or the game is a blowout. Fortunately, it was the latter for Greater Atlanta Christian and junior David McTier. McTier, who also plays defensive back, added an interception return for a touchdown. GAC Stays Unbeaten with 62-8 Win

Spartans rout Clarkston, shift focus to Buford.

The primary question prior to undefeated Greater Atlanta Christian's homecoming game against Clarkston Friday night was whether or not the Spartans could avoid looking ahead to a would-be titanic Region 6-AA tilt against Buford. The now 7-0 Spartans answered with a resounding yes, posting a 62-8 victory at Reynolds Field. The win sets up a match-up of unbeatens with the Wolves at Tom Riden Stadium in Buford next week for the 6-AA, Division A lead. The Spartans had a great start Friday, recovering a Jordan Battle fumble of the opening kickoff at the Clarkston 40. After a pass interference penalty on Clakston moved the ball to the 13, Delano Spencer hit Jeremy McGriff for the opening points of the evening. Two-way star Kyle Scales gave GAC …
