Multiple Car Break-Ins Reported at Malibu Grand Prix

Inside the Police Reports: Damage was seen on all the victims' car doors in the parking lot of the Norcross amusement park.

Despite its recent good news of starting construction on the new water park, Malibu Grand Prix had a string of entering autos reported last weekend. According to Norcross Police reports, authorities were notified of three incidents Saturday, April 6, at the 5400 Brook Hollow Pkwy. establishment. In the first entering auto report, a 38-year-old told authorities that he was in the park with his family when he received a text message alert about his truck's car alarm going off around 4:30 p.m. While walking to his car, he noticed two men standing next to it. As soon as they saw him, they got into a tan Tahoe with a blue temporary tag and tinted windows and drove off.  The victim found his driver's door open with pry marks on it. The wires …

Norcross Police Catch Five Car Burglary Suspects

With the help of community, the suspects were caught red-handed last night and the stolen goods were recovered.

Updated Oct. 18 at 8:28 p.m.  A resident of Sunset Hills subdivision in downtown Norcross called the police late last night when he saw a suspicious group of men in the neighborhood. A second phone call came in from Longview, just down the street. The resident was still on the phone with the dispatcher, when officers rolled into the subdivision and gave chase to the suspects, according to the Norcross PD. The men split into two groups but the officers were able to track them down with the help of the residents, who called in to report that people were running through their backyards, according to Cpt. Brian Harr. The men had backpacks that were stuffed with stolen goods, mostly money and electronics, like GPS devices, he said. The incident…

Car Broken Into at Thrasher Park

Window smashed at the local park, leading to stolen purse and four fraudulent credit card charges.

Linda Perez’ nanny and daughter were playing at Thrasher Park on Monday morning. When they returned to the nanny’s car, they found the window busted and her purse taken from under the seat. The nanny had four fraudulent charges on her credit card, totaling $1500, that they reported to the police. Perez said that her nanny spoke to another person who frequently visits the park in the morning, who reported a similar break-in last month.  They shared the location of the four fraudulent charges with the Norcross PD, hoping that they could zero in on the person through video footage at the stores—but nothing has come up yet. Perez said she’s disappointed with the Norcross Police Department’s response to the incident. “I would also like to see …
