And not only that, another campaign sign was lifted from a nearby intersection. In Athens, numerous campaign signs were reported stolen in the Five Points area of town. Athens-Clarke County Police also were told car-magnet signs for State House candidate Carter Kessler were stolen while campaigners were soliciting votes. 2. Click on the links below for more details 1. The “person down” DeKalb County police found on a recent weekday morning ended up being a half-dressed woman who was sleeping on the ground. The police report said the 46-year-old woman was wearing only a red T-shirt and brown leather boots — no pants or underwear — when she was found in the Stone Mountain area. She didn’t wake up in a good mood, cussing out officers when they tried to cover her with a blanket; there were kids walking to school in the area. She was later placed in soft leg restraints. But a couple of burglary suspects found that wasn’t the case when they tried to smash through a window at a Stone Mountain-area veterinary clinic. Surveillance video showed the men used a boulder they brought with them to break the glass. "However they had no luck," according to the police report. The rock only broke one pane of the double-paned window. The video showed them give up and drive away. 2. Winder Police say one of two women suspected of shoplifting at two stores admitted that she hid a stolen toothbrush in her bra. Further investigation found the women had shoplifted around $50 worth of goods from Dollar General and Fred’s. They …
