Turns out he had been wanted in connection with the assault of a woman at the same Snellville residence in April. The homeowner said the man broke a garage-door window and kicked in the front door before police arrived. The meth man yelled at police that he would rather be shot or tazed than be arrested again. But once police threatened to send in a K-9 dog to remove him, he came out with his hands up. The man, approximately 18 to 22 years old, knocked on the door and "mentioned something about the roof." Thinking the young man knew her 81-year-old husband, the woman led him to the living room to see the husband. A young woman then knocked on the door, claiming to be the man’s friend and needing to use the bathroom. She was let in, too. The suspects left soon afterward, apparently leaving an empty envelop that had contained the money. Athens Clarke County Police say the man confronted the couple as they were loading up a pickup truck. They told him they were with the mortgage company and were at the house because it was going into foreclosure. The mortgage company told the man no such action was ordered.
