No thank you. Waffle House is one of the most unethical companies I've come to know. They treat their employees absolutely terribly and could care less. If the public only knew the real story about the company they would not want to support it either.   more ›

Waffle House in Norcross Robbed Twice in Same Week

Inside the Police Reports: Police believe the same suspects are responsible for both crimes and may be linked to six other robberies in DeKalb.

Police believe the same suspects are responsible for robbing the same Waffle House in Norcross twice last week, in addition to other robberies in the metro area. On Saturday (April 20), Gwinnett police say an armed man robbed the 6079 Goshen Springs restaurant and then fled the scene in a getaway car driven by another man. They fired shots at officers while they followed the two men on Jimmy Carter Boulevard. No one was injured, and the suspects, later identified as Tavares Douglas Harris and Tamari Adams, stopped at the Home Depot near Lawrenceville Highway where police apprehended them. On the previous Sunday (April 14), a man walked into the same Waffle House around 8:45 p.m. and robbed it, too, according to the Norcross Police report. …

Waffle House Robbed at Gunpoint in Norcross

The incident occurred late last month off Goshen Springs Road.

A Waffle House in Norcross was allegedly robbed at gunpoint early one morning last week. According to the Norcross police report, a waitress and cook were playing cards when a man walked into the 6079 Goshen Springs Road restaurant around 4:30 a.m. Aug. 29. The waitress asked the man if he was going to eat something, and he said yes, but he first asked for change for $20. As she got some change from the cash register, she looked up and saw him standing in front of her and pointing a gun. He reached over her and started grabbing money from the register, and then immediately walked out toward Global Mall across the street. The cook told the same story to police. After police spoke with the witness and victim, a woman spoke with police …

Weird Police News: Road Rage, Waffle House Gripes and More

A roundup of unusual cop stories from Northeast Georgia.

Click on the links for more details: 1. A Stone Mountain-area man was taken to the cleaners by a bogus dry-cleaning business earlier this month (sorry, we couldn’t resist). The man responded to a special of “11 pieces for only $18.95,” according to a police report. He dropped off the clothes and paid the money, but when he returned to pick up his clothes six days later the building was deserted. 2. Really? Stealing paint? Home improvement must be pretty expensive. A Lawrenceville man was arrested on felony shoplifting charges after he was caught trying to steal several five-gallon cans of paint from a Johns Creek Home Depot. Apparently, he tried to wheel the paint out of the store in one of those shopping wagons when he was stopped by the …

A homeless man showed himself to two women at a Norcross Waffle House, according to the victims' statements.

A homeless man was arrested for public intoxication, open container and public indecency after he allegedly showed himself and yelled drunken obscenities to two sisters at a local Waffle House. According to the police report, the sisters, a 28-year-old from Loganville and a 25-year-old from Dawsonville, visited at the Waffle House on 6079 Goshen Springs Road in unincorporated Norcross to grab a meal late in the evening on Dec. 6. The older sister told police they saw a man urinating outside the restaurant when they arrived. They ignored the man and continued inside. After finishing their food, they exited Waffle House and walked back to their car, only to be bothered by the same person.  The man, a 49-year-old homeless person, began …

Updated: Waffle House Offering Reward for Serial Robbers

A diner in the City of Norcross was among those stuck up.

Updated Aug. 11 at 9:30 a.m.  The Norcross Police Department is on the hunt for two men who they believed robbed the Waffle House at 5122 Brook Hollow Pkwy—and nine other Metro Atlanta stores—at gunpoint. Clear video footage of the men has led investigators in Norcross, Gwinnett, DeKalb and Clayton to link the same men to all of the robberies. The Norcross PD is now asking for the public’s help in identifying the men, who they describe as black males in their 20s or 30s.  Another Waffle House robbery occurred this morning in Marietta, but it is unclear if these incidents are related. The suspect wearing sunglasses in the Norcross tape is likely between 6 feet and 6 feet, 2 inches tall. He has medium length hair and a thin build. The other …

Based in Norcross: Waffle House

The corporate headquarters of the Southern icon is right in our backyard.

If you've lived in the Southeast, especially Georgia, you're more than familiar with the 24/7-restaurant with the blocky black-and-yellow sign.  Owner to 1,600 active restaurants in 25 states, Waffle House has grown tremendously since its initial 1955 restaurant opening in Avondale Estates.  Back then, it was a solitary restaurant. Today, an average of 107 cups of coffee and 132 waffles are served per day in a single restaurant. Nationwide, it's more than 171, 200 cups of coffee and 211,200 per day. Per week, the number reaches almost 1.2 million cups of coffee and 1.5 million waffles. What people may not have realized is that headquarters is actually located right in their backyard in Norcross off Jimmy Carter Blvd.  Nestled here since …
