Norcross Weekend Planner: Football, Middle Earth and More

Norcross happenings aren't limited to just the city this weekend; there are events in Duluth and Atlanta that will be calling locals to, too.

Norcross is taking it down notch this weekend when it comes to happenings on its home turf, but there are a few exciting Norcross-related events happening outside the city. On Saturday, it's Norcross High's big day at the Georgia Dome for the Football State Championship Game. Since it's the Blue Devils' first time at the championships, it's a pretty big deal. Norcross will be playing against Lovejoy High at 8:30 p.m., and tickets range from $18 to $20. Click here for more information on the event. Renowned Fantasy Artist to Sign Middle-Earth Calendars During 'The Hobbit' at Lionheart

Jef Murray will unveil his 2013 calendar during the showing of "The Hobbit" at Lionheart Theatre in Norcross.

World-famous fantasy artist Jef Murray will be on hand at Lionheart Theatre Company’s live Sunday performance of J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy adventure "The Hobbit" to sign his new 2013 Jef Murray Middle-Earth Calendar and show posters. Murray will be available before the Sunday show from 1p.m. to 2 p.m. and immediately following the show at 3:45 p.m. Fans can purchase calendars without attending the show and can also purchase autographed calendars at other shows. The calendars are $17 each and the posters are $5.  Murray is generously sharing proceeds of the calendar sales with the non-profit community theatre. He also donated the artwork for the poster.
