Update [With Video]: Man Shot in Head in Attempted Robbery
Gwinnett police have one suspect in custody after a shooting at a Norcross-area tax office.
Updated, 8:25 p.m. A man was shot and another is in custody after what appears to be an attempted robbery in unincorporated Norcross, according to Gwinnett County Police. The shooting occurred just around 5 p.m. Monday at Tax Service Insurance, a business services and tax office located at 5627 Singleton Road, said Detective John Rowell in a press conference. The suspect, Jeremy Williams, 20, attempted to rob the owner, 56-year-old Damien Ezekie of Lawrenceville, at gunpoint, according to a press release from Cpl. Jake Smith. There was a struggle and Williams allegedly shot Ezekie in the head. The victim was transported to the hospital and is considered to be in critical condition. So glad the man will be ok....and very proud if our neighbors in our neighborhood for getting involved. The suspect was captured 2 houses from me. And I applaud Gwinnett Police for the quick response ....way to go and get this Thug off the streets.   more ›
