Funeral to Be Held Saturday for Norcross Couple Killed in Wreck

Jess Willard Haygood and Sara Pauline Haygood died Monday in a car accident in Barrow County. The funeral will be held at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home in Peachtree Corners.

Long-time Norcross residents Jess Willard Haygood and Sara Pauline Haygood died Monday in a car accident in Barrow County. The following is an obituary provided by Crowell Brothers Funeral Home of Peachtree Corners. Jess Willard Haygood, 80, and Sara Pauline Haygood, 67, of Norcross, GA, passed away December 10, 2012. The funeral will be Saturday, December 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Peachtree Corners, GA. Burial will follow at Warsaw Cemetery in Johns Creek, GA. The family will receive friends Friday, December 14th, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 2 Norcross Residents Killed in Barrow Car Crash

Jess Willard Haygood, 80, and Sara Pauline Haygood, 67, died in the collision.

From Barrow Patch An auto accident Monday along Ga. Highway 8 in Barrow County killed two people from Norcross.  According to the Georgia State Patrol, a 2003 GMC Envoy being driven by Winder resident Kristina Marie Brown was traveling eastbound on Highway 8 about 2:25 p.m. when the vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 1992 Honda Accord being driven by Jess Willard Haygood, 80, of Norcross. Haygood and a passenger, Sara Pauline Haygood, age 67, also of Norcross, died in the crash. Brown was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment. A blood sample was taken to determine if alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash. Charges are pending the completion of a follow-up investigation by the GSP Specialized Collision …
