Police Seek Additional Victims, Witnesses in Sex Crimes Case

Syed Hasan Abidi is believed to have used websites to lure young women for the purposes of prostitution and rape in Norcross and Gwinnett.

The Norcross Police Department, the FBI and Gwinnett County Police are seeking information on a man who was arrested and charged with sex crimes earlier this month. Syed Hasan Abidi, 31, of Atlanta, was arrested by Norcross Police on March 4 on charges of rape and aggravated sodomy. Later in the month, an investigation by the Gwinnett County Police Department Vice Unit determined that Abidi had been advertising opportunities for teenage girls to make money on various websites including craigslist.com and backpage.com, according to a news release Gwinnett spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith. "The investigation revealed that Abidi was attempting to lure young women into situations that amounted to prostitution and rape," according to Smith. GCPD Vice …

Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Pimping of a Minor

Airick Creighton, a 20-year-old from the Norcross area, was convicted Friday in Gwinnett County, according to media reports.

A man from the Norcross area has been convicted of forcing a 14-year-old girl into prostitution, according to media reports. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that Airick Creighton, 20, has been sentenced to a minimum of 25 years in prison on charges of aggravated child molestation and pimping a minor. The jail time will be followed by a life on probation, and he will also be a registered sex offender for life. According to prosecutors, Creighton had brought the 14-year-old to a motel room in the Norcross area. He helped her use Backpage.com for her prostitution services. Craigslist Prostitution Ad Turns Into Robbery, Assault

Inside the Police Reports: The victim told Norcross Police that she was set up after answering an ad about sex work.

The victim of a motel robbery claims that she was set up after meeting with someone concerning a Craigslist ad for prostitution. According to the Norcross Police report, an officer met with the victim around 5 a.m. Oct. 21 at Days Inn, located at 5990 Western Hills Dr. in Norcross. The victim told the officer that she had responded to an advertisement on Craigslist that day regarding sex work. She contacted a person named Ryan about getting a room and screening clients for her. When they got to the motel, the victim gave Ryan $95 for the room and the supposed "screening service." Ryan left but assured she would return shortly. Former PIO for Gwinnett PD Arrested for Soliciting a Prostitute

Former Gwinnett County public information officer Cpl. Brian Kelly resigned after it was learned he was arrested in Barrow County on May 31 and charged with pandering.

Gwinnett County Police Department announced that Cpl. Brian Kelly, former public information offficer for the department, resigned after it was learned that he was arrested in Barrow County on May 31 for pandering (soliciting an act of prostitution).   In a press release, Gwinnett PD spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith it was determined that Kelly did not tell Barrow authorities that he was an officer nor did he report his arrest to the department.   "Officers in this agency are required by policy to immediately report an arrest to their supervisors," Smith said in the release. UGA Professor Charged with Prostitution at Norcross Hotel

Under the name "Sasha," Max Reinhart scheduled a thirty-minute session with an undercover Gwinnett detective at Guest House Inn in unincorporated Norcross.

University of Georgia professor Max Roland Reinhart was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on Thursday night on charges of prostitution and keeping a place of prostitution. According to Gwinnett County Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith, detectives located an ad in the transsexual escort services section of backpage.com. The subject's name was "Sasha." Detectives arranged a meeting with "Sasha" at the Guest House Inn, located at 2050 Willow Trail, in unincorporated Norcross.  The room had been rented by Reinhart. The undercover detective and the suspect came to an agreement of $60 for thirty minutes of "services."
