Norcross City Council Agenda: Feb. 4, 2013

The council may come to a close on the downtown digital reader board, the gateway signage proposal and the parking lot project for Norcross City Hall.

The Norcross City Council will meet for its regular work session and monthly meeting Monday, Feb. 4. The work session starts at 6:30 p.m. in Norcross City Hall and will set the agenda for the monthly meeting, which will start at 7 p.m. In the later meeting, the agenda includes a public hearing on a resolution to accept a Community Development Block Grant award for $564,400. The funds will go toward constructing sidewalk accessibility improvements on Price Place, Center Way, North Peachtree Street, West Peachtree Street, Mitchell Road and Old Norcross Road. Norcross City Hall Parking Project Tabled

The council decided to wait on the measure for one month.

Aside from the swearing-in ceremonies for the councilmen and police officers, the city council agenda for the January meeting was fairly slim. The consent agenda started with only two items, but one was axed: The Petco 5k Dogs-in-the-Park special use permit item was no longer applicable to Norcross because the organization chose another city for the event. The other item, to approve or deny a contract to start construction on the City Hall Wingo Street Parking Lot Project, was turned into a discussion item that ended up being tabled for one month.
