The opening of The Art House will be held Satuday, Jan. 5
Lionheart Theatre Company will celebrate the opening of The Art House as an arts, special events and arts education venue this Saturday, Jan. 5, from noon to 3 p.m. During the open house, visitors can contribute to expedition by creating a collage that will be on display through January. The open house also will include storytelling, live music, a play reading and art on display from local artists including artists from the Kudzu Art Zone, paintings rom the private collection and Ann Labaire and photography by local potographer Nancy Caldwell. Do you want better area to walk your dog, go for a jog or ride your bike in the Norcross area? The Gwinnett Village CID, with the assistance of the Atlanta Regional Commission, wants the community's input on different ways to improve mobility during a bicycle and pedestrian open house Thursday, Aug. 2. The community improvement district is undertaking a connectivity study that will "encourage alternative modes of transportation and enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility," according to the CID website. The study looks specifically at the Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Indian Trail Lilburn Road corridors. The Norcross arts incubator is having an open house on what's in store for the season.
The Nest, Norcross' arts incubator that debuted last year, is having an open house this Saturday to show off its new goods for the summer season. Guests will be able to check out and participate in four different craft and demo stations in the Nest's workshop sampler, according to founder Lori Sturgess. With the multiple businesses that operate inside the incubator, a number of workshops are offered throughout each month that would appeal to almost anyone, regardless of artistic ability. In between all the art, make sure to have some food and drinks, and enjoy the live music from Zephyr.
