A little bit of WWII education, folk art and live music.
Get pumped for the weekend with a little of everything in the entertainment department. Start the weekend with one of the last summer concerts of the summer featuring A-town A-list. Having shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen and Dave Matthews, A-town A-list sings pop songs from the last 50 years with a very "current, modern edge." Music starts at 7:30 and end at 9:30 p.m. in Thrasher Park. It's another artsy weekend in the Norcross area with Folk Fest 2012 at the North Atlanta Trade Center. Kicking off this Friday at 5 p.m., the 19th annual art show will have more than 80,000 square feet of vendors in the self-taught art spectrum, Southern folk pottery, outsider art and more. The “sports entertainment” spectacle got the audience out of their chairs.
A raucous crowd shouts in unison, “Micro Superstars!” and the bell rings, sending two wrestlers after each other. The Enforcer gets slammed hard by The Beast, a wild wrestler with clown make-up who plays to the crowd. The Enforcer tries to get scrappy with small blows but gets pinned again, then “dragged” up by his hair. Just another Saturday in Norcross. This was not your usual WWF smack-down, though. The Micro Wrestling Federation visited the North Atlanta Trade Center this weekend, with showmanship and crowd-pumping antics at full tilt. They are a travelling group of little people entertainers that style their show after WWF, with over-the-top body slams and gloves-off moves inside—and outside—the ring. Their mission is to “show the …

Talent on Display, Motorcycles and A Big Green Ogre.
Even if it is freezing, the sun is shining. So get out and do something: 1. As if saving your dastardly soul isn't enough, many men of the cloth are quite talented. They have been proving so over the past four years and will again this weekend at the "5th Annual Fabulous Fathers Priest Talent Show." Proceeds will benefit Norcross's own Regina Caeli Academy. 2. With the popularity of Orange County Choppers, interest in motorcycles is getting a bump. If you're one of the millions who fit into this category, the Great American Motorcycle Show is taking place all weekend at the North Atlanta Trade Center. Unique, custom bikes along with accessories and bike dealers will fill over 100,000 square feet of showroom space. I guess you could say …

Boats, street poetry and films galore.
This will definitely be an artsy weekend. Just in time too. It's safe to say most Atlantans are sick of sports at the moment (thanks Packers). So pull out your tweed jacket and your corduroys and try to learn something. Who knows, it might even be fun. 1. For the second consecutive weekend, Gwinnett is playing host to top-notch stand-up comedy. Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville presents their first "Funny Fridays" of 2011 with two great comics in local great, Dan Mengini and veteran Joe Morrison. Most comedy shows give you a feature act (usually a younger comic working their way up) and a headliner (the person you came to see). This show gives you two headliners with credits from Comedy Central and Cartoon Network to national TV spots and …
