Inside the Police Reports: The man told Norcross Police that he was at the Waffle House off Goshen Springs Road when someone came up to him and pulled a pistol on him.
Police believe a man called authorities to falsely report that someone started chasing him around with a gun while he was dining at a local Waffle House last week. According to the Norcross Police report, the 47-year-old met with an officer outside a Chevron gas station off Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The officer noticed that he was sweating profusely, his eyes were wide and glazed, and he was chewing on the straw in his Waffle House cup. In between him grinding his teeth and twitching, the man explained that he and his wife were eating at the Waffle House on Goshen Springs Road. Multiple storage units have been reportedly broken into at the CubeSmart in Norcross in the past few weeks. According to Norcross Police reports, there have been at least three burglary incidents reported at the 3345 Medlock Bridge Rd. location from April 22 to April 29, but some of the actual burglaries could go as far back as April 14. One woman, 27, told authorities her unit could have been broken into any time between April 22 to April 29, when she arrived at the storage center. The report states someone had forced entry on the unit and took $1,500 worth of items: her TI-86 calculator, five flash drives, a Kindle NOOK, a CD player and $1,000 worth of medication. A man was arrested for obstruction after being difficult with a Norcross Police officer at Red Roof Inn.
A man was arrested outside the local Red Roof Inn earlier this month after being difficult with a Norcross Police officer. According to the incident report, authorities reported to a fight between two men that occurred at the 5171 Brook Hollow Pkwy. around 9:15 p.m. on a recent Saturday. The reporting officer saw them walking, with one man bleeding from his left arm and the other walking away from him. The officer told them both to stop, but only the one who was bleeding complied. The 19-year-old told Norcross officers that church members held her against her will and cut off her dress during Sunday service, but investigators spoke with witnesses and concluded she exaggerated the situation.
Norcross Police believe a 19-year-old lied about members of a local church kidnapping her and cutting off her dress as part of a religious ritual. According to the original police report, the Norcross woman told investigators that she went to the Warehouse Church, a small, non-denominational congregation located at 6191 Atlantic Boulevard in the city, at 12:15 p.m. last week for Sunday service. She immediately met with two church members, who escorted her to another room. They held her down while one of them removed her dress by cutting it with a pair of scissors, according to the report. Police say a woman started hitting her stepmother at the Norcross bus station after she denied taking her money.
A Lilburn woman was arrested after an employee at a Greyhound bus station in Norcross called police to report a fight in the parking lot earlier this month. According to the Norcross Police report, an officer arrived at 2105 Norcross Pkwy. around 10 p.m. on a recent Tuesday to find two women fighting. The women were a stepmother, 50, and stepdaughter, 35, from Lilburn. The older woman, who had a hold of the other woman's shirt, accused her stepdaughter of trying to take her purse. The younger woman told police that her stepmother had stolen $300 from her dresser that morning. Once she returned home from work, the money and her stepmother were gone, so she went to the Greyhound station to confront her. The stepmother denied taking the money…
