Bundle up students before sending them to the bus stop Monday - old man winter is stirring. Weather.com reports that the National Weather Service is predicting that in Norcross, temperatures will drop to 37 degrees by 7 a.m. When the wind chill is factored in, that drops below freezing and as low as 26 degrees by 7 a.m. Although it is predicted to be sunny, the temperature is still not expected to break 56 for a high all day. Tuesday is predicted to be colder with temperatures of 55 degrees and 35 degrees, and Halloween Wednesday has a high of 61 degrees and a low of 36. It looks like we've finally put summer behind us.

In a day when the temperature is expected to reach just 61, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a wind advisory to remain in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today. In addition to this, a high fire danger conditions alert has been issued for today and into the early evening hours. Wind Advisory for Sunday, Freeze Watch for Monday, and on top of that there is a high pollen alert for allergy sufferers. Walton and Gwinnett counties are in these weather alert areas, including Norcross.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory and freeze warning for several counties and cities in Georgia, including Gwinnett and Norcross. According to weather.com, the wind advisory is in effect from noon until 6 p.m. Sunday, March 4, and the freeze watch will be in effect from Monday evening through to Tuesday morning. The winds are reported to be northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts of up to 30 mph. The freezing temperatures are expected to be mid 20s to lowers 30s. The NWS warns the impact of these strong winds could be the blowing of unsecured objects. Also, weak trees could be blown down. Freezing temperatures could threaten early spring growth. Severe weather expected; watch issued until 5 a.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch tonight for most of metro Atlanta, including Gwinnett County. The watch runs until 5 a.m Saturday. Severe storms, with hail and tornadoes, are possible as a strong cold front appoaches from the West. This is the same storm system that has spawned a tornado outbreak today in the Ohio Valley.

Update: 2:15 p.m. The Tornado Watch for our area has been cancelled. At 10:37 a.m. the National Weather Service extended the tornado watch until 4 p.m. this afternoon to include 11 counties, including Gwinnett.
