The Norcross Weekend Planner

The last Summer Concert series for the year,

Who else is excited about the upcoming Labor Day weekend? Start it off right with Norcross' Summer Concert series, which is the last one for the season. Jimmy Buffet tribute band A1A will take the Thrasher Park stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday, so grab the cooler and picnic basket for the last time this season before fall hits. Do you know what Zouk Dance is? Find out what it is at GodMama's Kitchen, a multicultural cuisine restaurant located at 6045 S. Norcross Tucker Rd. The fun starts at 10 p.m. Friday. and lasts until 2 a.m. Going back to downtown Norcross, Iron Horse Tavern and 45 South Cafe doesn't ever stop their weekend festivities. 45 South will have Ethan Smith play Friday and The Jason Connelly Band on Saturday, both at 7 p.m. Head to …

Not Ready for 'American Idol'? Try Ai Tunes Karaoke

Each week, Norcross Patch profiles a different business in the area. This week, we talk to Martin Chan, owner of Ai Tunes Karaoke Lounge.

Whatever the reason, Ai Tunes Karaoke is gaining attention in Norcross, as it was named a Readers’ Choice 2012 winner for Best Place to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Somewhat different from a typical karaoke bar, at Ai Tunes you can rent private rooms in case you’re not ready to try your Lady Gaga or Bruno Mars imitation on complete strangers. For Grown-Ups, the Halloween Howls Come Saturday

Shopping specials, smoking cocktails and costume fun. And then there's karaoke.

Updated Oct. 29, 9:24 a.m. While Monday may be reserved for kids in cute costumes hyped up on candy corn, Saturday night is when the older set will most likely come out to play for Halloween.  There are plenty of festivities planned in downtown Norcross for the All Spirits Eve. Mojitos, Zapata, the Shops of Antique Traditions, Anna Balkan Jewelry Gallery and the Purple Poppy Shoppe are all offering 10 percent discounts for those in costume. You can also enter to win gift certificates and other prizes at each of the shops mentioned, too.  Kicking off at 9 p.m., there's live music and karaoke at the Iron Horse Tavern. A costume contest gears up at 11 p.m. that includes $500 in prizes. The posters posters this year's karaoke and costume …

Five Things To Do This Weekend

Five Things To Do This Weekend

Talent on Display, Motorcycles and A Big Green Ogre.

Even if it is freezing, the sun is shining. So get out and do something:  1. As if saving your dastardly soul isn't enough, many men of the cloth are quite talented. They have been proving so over the past four years and will again this weekend at the "5th Annual Fabulous Fathers Priest Talent Show." Proceeds will benefit Norcross's own Regina Caeli Academy.  2. With the popularity of Orange County Choppers, interest in motorcycles is getting a bump. If you're one of the millions who fit into this category, the Great American Motorcycle Show is taking place all weekend at the North Atlanta Trade Center. Unique, custom bikes along with accessories and bike dealers will fill over 100,000 square feet of showroom space. I guess you could say …
