Anna Balkan to Celebrate 2 Years in Norcross

The designer jewelry gallery will have its anniversary party Saturday, Sept. 22.

The Anna Balkan Designer Jewelry Gallery is celebrating its second anniversary of being in its Norcross storefront this Saturday. Anna Balkan, the Ukranian-born designer who sells her affordable jewelry to more than 400 retail shops and galleries around the world, will have lots of goodies going on at the store all day. Everyone is invited to check out the special offers on designer pieces all day, but there will be an evening party with food, refreshments and music. The event is free, but a portion of the proceeds from items sold will be donated to the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Attendees also will receive an exclusive 2012 Anna Balkan Designer Jewelry Gallery music soundtrack, curated by Balkan herself. The music is …

An armed robbery was reported at New Jewelers in the Norcross area earlier this month.

An armed robbery was reported at New Jewelers in the Norcross area earlier this month. According to the surveillance tape and the Gwinnett County police report, two suspects went into the 1264 Beaver Ruin Road business on Oct. 5 around 6:20 p.m. One of the suspects ordered everyone to get down while pointing a pistol at the employee, 51. There were two items reported stolen: one pink topaz stone with a half-carat diamond, worth $3,600; and a nugget diamond and gold ring with multiple stones, worth $2,000. The victim told police that she believes one of the suspects had come in days before to observe their inventory. The two suspects fleed the store on foot. Suspects Charged in Jewelry Store Robberies

Three suspects have been charged in armed robberies at local Barron's Fine Jewelry and Tara Fine Jewelry stores. One suspect is in custody but two others remain at large.

Three men have been charged in robberies earlier this year at Barron’s Fine Jewelry and Tara Fine Jewelry, according to a press release from the GCPD. Detectives have charged Simone Simon, 33; Terrence Talley, 28; and Nicholas Moss, 31, with armed robbery in each of these cases, according to the release. Simon and Moss are still at large, and anyone with information on their whereabouts should contact 770-513-5300. Talley is in custody at the Gwinnett County Detention Center. Tara Fine Jewelry, 1829 Buford Highway in Buford, was robbed by four men with handguns and hammers on March 22, 2011. The men ordered everyone in the store to get down on the ground and struck a customer in the head with one of the hammers. The suspects then smashed …
