The holiday 2012 shopping bargains did not end with Black Friday on the coveted new iPhone. Walmart, in a move the week before Christmas, announced it will begin selling the iPhone 5 for $127, which is $72 less than Apple's price when buying with a two-year contract with AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. The iPhone 4S can be had for a mere $47. Also, Walmart, in Dunwoody on Ashford Dunwoody Road, has put the third-generation iPad on sale for $399. And if you buy one after Monday Walmart will throw in a $30 iTunes gift card. The move comes just three months after Apple rolled out the latest version of its landmark smartphone. A mother and daughter were allegedly scammed into buying two iPads and an Apple laptop while at QuikTrip late last month. The incident is somewhat similar to another report of a woman scammed into buying a MacBook Pro in a Walmart parking lot in Lilburn. According to the police report, the 32-year-old woman was with her 51-year-old mom at QuikTrip, located at 5095 Oakbrook Parkway in unincorporated Norcross, around 12:30 p.m. Jan. 24. She told Gwinnett County Police that she and her mom were approached by two men in the parking lot who said they were selling iPads and Apple laptops.
