Gwinnett Man Charged With Armed Robbery, Hit and Run

Brandon Chance Ennis was arrested on five charges for two separate incidents, one of which took place at a Norcross-area apartment complex.

A man was arrested last Thursday in connection to two separate incidents of a hit and run and an armed robbery, which took place in unincorporated Norcross. In addition to the robbery and hit and run charges, 18-year-old Brandon Chance Ennis, of Lawrenceville, has been charged with following too closely, violation of probation, and driving while license suspended or revoked. According to the Gwinnett Police reports, the armed robbery involved two cousins who ran into Ennis at a party at Highland Walk Apartments in the Norcross area. While walking to the party, they were confronted by Ennis, whom they'd never met before. He asked who they were and what they were doing there. The driver, a 70-year-old man, was allegedly drunk, and may have intentionally rammed 15 vehicles along Highway 78 in Gwinnett and DeKalb counties. The victim has been identified as Mintiwab Woldeyhans, 69.

From Snellville Patch Snellville and Gwinnett County Police responded to a devastating scene late Wednesday night, Jan. 23, after an alleged drunk driver caused a total of 15 accidents stretching from Memorial Drive in DeKalb to Walton Court just outside of Snellville city limits. According to Gwinnett Police Cpl. Jake Smith, the driver ended his rampage when he crashed into John Boy's restaurant on Highway 78. The five-vehicle crash, on Walton, resulted in a fatality.  The victim has been identified as Mintiwal Woldeyhans, 69, of Loganville. A second person, 51-year-old Yeshihareg Abebe of Grayson, suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. Hit and Run Investigation Turns Into Cocaine Bust

Inside the Police Reports: The passenger of a vehicle thought to have fled the scene of a hit and run in unincorporated Norcross was arrested on cocaine possession and false identity charges.

Police may have pulled over the wrong vehicle involved in a reported hit and run case earlier this month, but they still arrested someone in the car for illegal drug activity and lying to police. According to the police report, Gwinnett County officers were on the lookout for a blue minivan after it allegedly struck a vehicle around 12:30 a.m. Sept. 9 in unincorporated Norcross. The incident occurred on Singleton Road and the car fled toward Jimmy Carter Boulevard in unincorporated Norcross. Officers in the area spotted a matching description of a damaged car in that direction, so they pulled it over. They spoke with the driver and two passengers. None of them had any ID with them, so they wrote down their names and date of births on an …

Man Struck by Car in Norcross Area

Inside the Police Reports: An argument in a club off Jimmy Carter Boulevard escalated to the point of vehicular assault.

A man was hit by a car last month as a result of an escalated argument between him and another man at a club in unincorporated Norcross. The incident took place around 3 a.m. May 26 at Club Rex, located at 4650 Jimmy Carter Boulevard, according to the police report. Gwinnett County Police found the victim lying on the sidewalk near the entrance of the club with a crowd around him. Bones were protruding from the victim's chest and elbow, and he had blood coming from his mouth. Medics were able to find a weak pulse, and he was transported to the hospital. Local Hit-and-Run Suspect Arrested in N.C.

A suspect wanted in a Norcross-area hit-and-run was arrested in Charlotte, N.C.

A suspect wanted in a Norcross-area hit-and-run was arrested Wednesday in Charlotte, N.C., according to WSBTV Channel 2. Miguel Sanchez-Cruz, 40, was wanted by Gwinnett County police for felony hit-and-run charges in unincorporated Norcross from August 2011. Sanchez-Cruz had hit a man who was helping a stranded driver push a vehicle in a gas station parking lot at Brook Hollow Parkway and Center Way. Sanchez-Cruz fled, and the victim ended up losing part of his left leg, according to WSBTV. Ever since the incident, Sanchez-Graves had been spending seven months on the run. Norcross Man Sought in Marietta Hit and Run

The 24-year-old resident told a local news outlet that he had a seizure and does not remember the accident.

Norcross resident Garrett Hamlin was involved in a multiple-car accident that led Marietta Police to issue a warrant for his arrest for fleeing the scene of an accident and other charges. The 24-year-old told a local new outlet that he had a seizure and has no recollection of the crash. The accident occurred on Monday, Oct. 24 just after noon, according to Marietta Police. Hamlin was on S. Marrieta Parkway, driving a white Ford F-250. The truck struck a black F-250 Ford truck travelling in the same direction. “Mr. Hamlin then fled the scene of the accident with the F-250 before losing control of his vehicle and crossing the center grass median into west bound lanes,” according to a Marietta Police statement. High School Student Found Unconscious in Road

Investigators have now ruled out hit and run in the case, however.

A 17-year-old high school students was found lying unconcious in the roadway, bleeding and with life threatening injuries. Gwinnett Police first drew an obvious conclusion, that he may have been the vicitim of a hit and run, but now believe his injuries don't point to him being struck by a car.  On Sept. 4 around 4:30 a.m., a Gwinnett County Police officer was sent to a domestic call in an unincorporated area of Norcross, on Williams Road near Tug Drive. In the course of that call, the officer found Tsvetomir Petrushev lying in the road alone, according to a Gwinnett County Police release.  Petrushev was bleeding from the head, and was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Cobb Hit-and-Run Suspects Charged

An East Cobb woman and a Smyrna man have been arrested for the Aug. 20 accident that killed a Norcross man on I-75.

Cobb Police have arrested two suspects wanted for the death of a motorcyclist on Interstate 75 near Windy Hill Road earlier this month.  Cobb Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said Brandon Weston, 32, of Smyrna, and Pamela K. Rice, 41, of East Cobb, were booked on multiple charges Tuesday night and are being held without bail at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.  Weston has been charged with second degree vehicular homicide, hit and run, tampering with evidence and failure to maintain a lane, as well as three misdemeanor traffic counts.  Rice, whose home address is listed as 1970 Branch View Drive in East Cobb, also has been charged with second degree vehicular homicide and tampering with evidence, and with being a party to a hit and…

Police Narrow Search in Hit and Run Case

Cobb Police still looking for a hit and run suspect who they believe killed a Norcross man.

A Norcross man was headed south on I-75 on Saturday, Aug. 20, when a motorist suddenly changed lanes, colliding with him and ejecting him from his bike, according to a Cobb County Police release. He died at the scene. The motorist has not been located.  Cobb Police now say that the car is a silver or grey 1986 to 1991 Porsche 944. They recovered evidence at the scene of the crime and also worked with the manufacturer to narrow down the make and model.  Emanuel R. Norcross Man Killed in Hit and Run on I-75

The 31-year-old was traveling south on the interstate on a motorcycle.

A Norcross man was headed south on I-75 on Saturday, when a motorist suddenly changed lanes, colliding with him and ejecting him from his bike, according to a Cobb County Police release. He died at the scene. The motorist has not been located.  Emanuel R. Mitchell, 31, of Norcross was heading south on his 1990 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle. He was near the Windy Hill Road exit around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, when a silver car to his right suddenly switched lanes, according to police.  The silver car collided with the motorcycle, sending Mitchell into a black 2011 Mazda 3 driven by 23-year-old Sonni Smith of Atlanta.
