Gwinnett to Revamp Online Map of County
The Geographic Information System browser can be used to map such things as land parcels and legislative districts.
Gwinnett County officials are updating their online Geographic Information System (GIS) browser, in a manner that includes aerial photography and ground surveys. According to a county newsletter, the county contracted Sanborn Map Company to acquire this data. Sanborn's team for this service will include WK Dickson & Co. Inc., a surveying firm based in Raleigh, N.C. Surveyors will place temporary black and white plastic targets, sized between 10 and 12 feet and in the shapes of "V," "X," or "T", within the public right-of-way and other public access lands around the county.
