Norcross Man Dies in Traffic Accident

A fatal traffic accident occurred on Friday at about 6:45 a.m. in South Forsyth County. Michael Stanley Carter, 53, of Norcross was killed after running a red light and slamming into another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 9 and Pendley Road. According to Traffic Specialist Investigator Ron Tomblin with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Carter was traveling northbound on Highway 9 in a 2002 silver Honda Accord when he apparently ran a traffic light and struck a 2003 white Mitsubishi Montero. The Montero, driven by Vickie Cronan, 48, of Cumming was going to make a left-hand turn and travel south onto Highway 9 when she was hit on the front driver's side by Carter.
