Norcross Man Dies in Traffic Accident

Michael Stanley Carter pronounced dead at scene.

A fatal traffic accident occurred on Friday at about 6:45 a.m. in South Forsyth County. Michael Stanley Carter, 53, of Norcross was killed after running a red light and slamming into another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 9 and Pendley Road. According to Traffic Specialist Investigator Ron Tomblin with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Carter was traveling northbound on Highway 9 in a 2002 silver Honda Accord when he apparently ran a traffic light and struck a 2003 white Mitsubishi Montero. The Montero, driven by Vickie Cronan, 48, of Cumming was going to make a left-hand turn and travel south onto Highway 9 when she was hit on the front driver's side by Carter. Forsyth's Most Wanted Fugitive, Captured in Norcross

A 28-year-old man wanted for attempted kidnapping, battery and robbery is in custody.

One of Forsyth County’s most wanted fugitives, David Ye El Choi, 28, of Johns Creek, is in custody. Choi was wanted on a bench warrant for failure to appear in Forsyth County Superior Court for arraignment on June 1 after his indictment by a grand jury in March. In April 2010 he was charged with two counts of battery, robbery and attempted kidnapping. The charges stem from an incident that occurred in the parking lot of Stars and Strikes on GA 9 in Cumming on April 17, 2010. Choi was allegedly one of two men who jumped a 17-year-old victim from behind and then attempted to force him into their car. When Choi and the other man were not able to get the victim into the vehicle, they threw him to the ground and began to kick and punch him. …
