Nestlé USA has voluntarily recalled four different frozen pizzas sold in the United States because the pizza may contain fragments of clear plastic, the company announced on Friday. The recall includes: The company said in a release that it made the recall because some people had found small fragments of plastic on the CPK Crispy Thin Crust White pizza, which it said was related to a lot of spinach received from a supplier. While the company received no complaints to date on the other three varieties that used the spinach, it recalled the additional varieties out of caution. Not only can your pets be affected by Salmonella from dry pet food being recalled by Natura Pet Products. Humans also are at risk from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration announced that Natura Pet Products is voluntarily expanding its recall of dry pet food because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The cinnamon flavored cake has been recalled in four states, including Georgia, due to nuts which may not be listed in the ingredients.
Kroger grocery stores have issued a recall of a bakery item in the middle of the carnival season. They are recalling its Bakery Mardi Gras King Cake Cinnamon because it may contain pecans not listed on the label. The cake was sold in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and eastern Tennessee. It has a sell by date of February 7, 2013 and the UPC code 4157327767. If you purchased the cake between December 30, 2012 and February 4, 2013, you can take it back to your local Kroger for a full refund or replacement. Publix has issued voluntary recalls of four separate Chinese-made dog treat products it sells in its stores. The chain issued recalls on Jan. 9 for Waggin' Train Dog Treats and Milo's Kitchen Dog Treats. Two days later, further recalls were issued for Publix Chicken Tenders Dog Chew Treats and Cadet Brand Chicken Jerky Treat. “As part of our commitment to food safety, including that of our four-legged family members, potentially impacted product has been removed from all store shelves,” said Maria Brous, Publix media and community relations director in a press release. Suzanna's Kitchen in Duluth has issued a recall for about 35,800 pounds of breaded chicken products it processed because they may contain pieces of plastic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Thursday, Dec. 6. The products subject to recall include: The nuggets and patties marked USDA-inspected were produced on March 15, 2012, and Sept. 6, 2011, for a separate federally inspected establishment and distributed to retail stores nationwide. FreeBird chicken products are organic and antibiotic-free. The problem was discovered as a result of consumer complaints about finding pieces of plastic in the products, according to FSIS. Updated Dec. 5, 9 a.m. Flying Food Group has issued a recall of some of its products. According to the Associated Press, the Lawrenceville based food manufacturer announced the recall Saturday and said the potentially deadly bacteria Listeria could be items produced by its plant. No illnesses related to the recall have been reported. Production at the plant has been suspended until an investigation can be completed. More food recalls have been issued by a Lawrenceville manufacturer. Earlier this month,Flying Food Group recalled sandwiches which were sold at Starbucks throughout the county. Today the Food and Drug Administration announced an additional recall of some 40 items including sandwiches, parfaits and salads because they potentially could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
