From Duluth Patch The Miami Herald reported Wednesday that Nicole D. Jones, the wife of former Atlanta Braves star Andruw R. Jones, has filed for divorce. Duluth Patch confirmed through court records that Mrs. Jones filed for divorce Monday, Dec. 31, in Gwinnett County Superior Court in Lawrenceville. The divorce filing followed the early Christmas Day arrest of Andruw Jones at the couple’s Sugarloaf Country Club home in unincorporated Duluth. He was arrested and charged with battery by Gwinnett Police as the result of a domestic incident involving his wife. A 30-year-old Peachtree Corners woman has been arrested in the stabbing death of her 32-year-old boyfriend in an incident that occurred at the Highland Lake Apartments on Ashley Lakes Drive. Police said that a heated domestic argument between the woman, Tiquonda Campbell, and her boyfriend, Tyress Shebre Malcome of Norcross, occurred Sunday night and resulted in Campbell grabbing a kitchen knife and assaulting Malcome. After the stabbing Malcome was driven by a friend to an address on Beechwood Avenue in Doraville where the incident was reported to police. Gwinnett Police arrested a man for a domestic-related shooting Tuesday night in unincorporated Duluth that sent a woman to the hospital with three gunshot wounds. Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said in a statement released Wednesday afternoon that Miguel Aguilar-Guerrero, 32, was arrested and charged in the shooting of Maria Jiminez-Alcara, who is in “critical, but stable” condition at a local hospital. The shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Madison at Breckinridge Apartments, located at 3450 Breckinridge Blvd. Smith said that Aguilar-Guerrero was still at the scene and holding a pistol when police arrived at around 10:40 p.m. He was arrested without incident.
