Murphy, Radloff Win GCPS School Board Races

GCPS incumbents Mary Kay Murphy for District 3 and District 5's Louise Radloff received the most votes in their races, which affect the Norcross area.

Updated, 3:14 a.m. With all Gwinnett County precincts reporting, here are the results on the two school board seats in Norcross districts (* indicates the winner): Gwinnett County Public School Board, District 3 Total votes: 60,144 Mary K. Murphy: 60.73 percent* Jen Falk: 39.27 percent Gwinnett County Public School Board, District 5 Total votes: 30,873 Louise Radloff: 74.13 percent* H.K. Dido: 25.87 percent --- Two Gwinnett County school board races affect the Norcross area in the November general election, and those races are for District 3 and District 5. As of 12:06 a.m. with unofficial results, the 43,180 votes counted so far show that District 3 incumbent Mary Kay Murphy, a Republican, was leading with 59.61 percent of the votes while…

After Recount, Hunter Still Wins District 3

The recount requested by current Gwinnett County Commissioner Mike Beaudreau yielded the same results as the runoff.

On Monday afternoon, current Gwinnett County Commissioner Mike Beaudreau requested a recount after falling behind following a runoff. He trailed opponent Tommy Hunter in the race for the District 3 seat in a runoff on Aug. 21st by 57 votes. The recount was completed Tuesday evening at about 6:15 and the results stand. Hunter has defeated Beaudreau by just 56 votes. Here are the numbers: Hunter will take office in January. Update: The Georgia Secretary of State reported the updated results.
