From Lawrenceville Patch The Hall County Sherrif's Department informed Patch that the 10- to 15-foot jon boat of Robert Armistead, 54, of Lawrenceville, was found overturned in the water about 10 feet off the shore. Armistead's body was taken to the Dekalb Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy and toxicology. The Hall County Fire Department's Dive Team reportedly pulled his body from Lake Lanier on Sunday, according to CBS Atlanta. The dive team responded to a call of a capsized boat near the Aqualand Marina at around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The Hall County Sheriff's Department told the television station that foul play is not suspected.

The 39-year-old Pennsylvania man whose body was found Aug. 13 in Peachtree Corners is remembered by his friends and family.
The discovery of the body of a man in Technology Park last month sent shock waves through the residents of Peachtree Corners and Norcross. Police provided little information about the man they would later identify as Ronald Joseph Corona Jr. of Pennsylvania. But an Aug. 30 obituary printed in the Scranton Times offers a glimpse of the man whose life ended abruptly at the still-young age of 39. On Aug. 13 when his body was discovered behind an office building in Technology Park, Gwinnett Police first suspected foul play and called in its Homicide unit to investigate. Gwinnett County Police released the name of the man discovered behind a business off Technology Parkway last week.
It's been 10 days since the body of a white male was found behind an office building on Technology Parkway and today Gwinnett County Police has released the man's identity. The Homicide Unit has positively identified the man found Monday, Aug. 13, as 39-year-old Ronald Corona from Pennsylvania, said Cpl. Edwin Ritter, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department. Ritter said Corona had been temporarily living temporarily in the Gwinnett area since November 2011. Corona had been found early Monday behind an office at 25 Technology Parkway. Police need help in finding the identity of a man found behind a Peachtree Corners business Monday.
Gwinnett Police still have not determined the cause of death or the identify the man found dead in Peachtree Corners' Technology Park on Monday. Police discovered the man's body in the early morning hours Monday, Aug. 13, after receiving a call of a suspicious person sleeping or possibly dead behind the office building at 25 Technology Parkway South. During the initial investigation, the homicide unit was called in to investigate after officers discovered several head injuries on the body of the white male. Police also found two tattoos on the man's body but had withheld any information on the tattoos during the investigation. The body of the man found in Technology Park early Monday morning has yet to be identified. Cpl. Edwin Ritter, spokesman for Gwinnett County Police, said an autotopsy was performed on the body and police are waiting for the results. Early Monday morning police were called to 25 Technology Parkway South in Peachtree Corners where the body of a white male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 200 pounds was found. The man sustained several wounds to the head, and the homicide unit was called in to investigate. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is awaiting lab and toxicology reports before giving a cause of death on Grace Hughes, 56, who was found dead July 5 in a car parked at the Loganville Walmart.
Lt. Mike Westbrooks of the Loganville Police Department said the autopsy has been completed on Grace Hughes, of Flowery Branch. The 56-year-old woman was found dead in a car parked at Walmart in Loganville on July 5. "At this time there is no confirmed cause of death due to pending toxicology and lab report," Westbrooks said, adding that the information came from the Georgia Bureau of Information Medical Examiner's Office. Westbrooks said there was nothing in the car to signify foul play and no evidence of alcohol or narcotic usage was found inside the vehicle. Loganville police confirmed that the body of a white female was found in a small, green car parked in the parking lot of the Loganville Walmart during the overnight hours of July 5. "At the early stage there are no obvious signs of foul play," Lt. Mike Westbrooks of the Loganville Police Department said. "The investigation follows." Westbrooks said the investigation is still in the preliminary stages. More information will follow as it becomes available.

A man hiking in Little Mulberry Park with his son this weekend made a gruesome discovery. The pair were on a trail within the park Sunday evening around 6:30 p.m. when the man spotted a badly decomposed body. Due to the condition of the remains, investigators were unable to determine the gender of the deceased at the scene. According to a Gwinnett County Police Department press release, cause of death and identity were also not immediately apparent. The Gwinnett Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy. The investigation is ongoing. The body was the second discovered over the weekend in Dacula. Saturday evening, a set of skeletal remains were found in a wooded area adjacent to a small field in the 1700 block of Harbins Road.

Homicide and arson police are investigating the case of a body found inside a burned car early Friday close to the Norcross-Tucker border in an unincorporated area of Gwinnett. Firefighters were dispatched at 5:07 a.m. this morning in response to a call from a police officer on routine patrol about a fire at Lucky Shoals Park. Upon arrival they discovered a smoldering car with a body inside. The age, sex, and identification of the deceased victim has yet to be determined, and the make and model of the car is not yet known due to it being badly burned, according to a police statement. Philip J. Gabilondo had been missing since April 16; he was found on the banks of the Yellow River.
A 23-year-old Lilburn man who apparently had been missing since April 16, was found dead on the banks of the Yellow River near Lawrenceville Sunday morning, according to Gwinnett Police. The body of Philip J. Gabilondo of 3745 Tamer Lane in Lilburn, was found by Gwinnett Police around 11:30 a.m. Sunday behind the property at 3567 Vinyard Way in Lawrenceville. The cause of death is not known and no foul play is suspected, according to Det. J.R. Flanagan of the Gwinnett Police Public Information Office. Gabilondo was the son of Lilburn Patch columnist Pat Gabilondo. The family preferred not to comment at this time.
