Crowell Brothers Funeral Home and the Crematory Business

The Peachtree Corners funeral home has applied for a special-use permit for the installation of a state-of-the-art crematory retort within its facilities.

Crowell Brothers Funeral Home has applied to the City of Peachtree Corners for a Special Use Permit for the installation of a state-of-the-art crematory retort within the existing funeral home.  This request came as a result of the wishes and desires of the families we serve within the area.  Funerals are local by their very nature—from death to visitation, mourning, and the final ceremony.  No one who has lost a loved one wishes the deceased to be moved to various locations or different cities during final disposition.  Families are now selecting cremations at a rate of almost 40% in our geographic area.  Those families and friends come to our funeral home not only from our local area, but from all over the country to say goodbye.  They …

Philanthropist, Gwinnett Developer's Son Passes Away

Visitation for Michael Scott Hudgens, son of Scott Hudgens Jr., is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home.

Michael Scott Hudgens, 64, of Duluth, a philanthropist and son of the late Gwinnett developer Scott Hudgens Jr., passed away Feb. 6. The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home, located at 5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Peachtree Corners. Mr. Hudgens attended the University of Georgia and was a retired U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed his family, being with friends and working on the family farm, where he spent most of his time. An avid NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed spending time at his home on the lake. Mr. Hudgens was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Mark R. Hudgens; and sister, Marcia Duggan. Former Stripling Elementary Teacher Passes Away

Charon Cayne Chase, 54, died at her Berkeley Lake home Monday, Dec. 10.

Born on July 30, 1958 in Livonia, Michigan to Marjorie and Ellsworth Chase, Charon earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration from Michigan State University in 1980 and went on to a career with Abbott Laboratories/Hospira before retiring at 50 years of age to start a new career in teaching. Charon attended Mercer University and received a Master's in Teaching in Spring 2011. After graduating, Charon taught 2nd grade at Stripling Elementary School, Norcross, Georgia. Former Norcross Councilman, Volunteer Fire Chief Passes Away at 84

Longtime Norcross resident Reuben A. "Junior" Gant died Sunday, Dec. 2.

Reuben A. “Junior” Gant, 84, of Norcross, passed away December 2, 2012. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Peachtree Corners. Burial will follow at Norcross City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home. Mr. Gant, a U.S. Army veteran, was a member of Norcross First Baptist Church for 70 years. He served on the Norcross City Council for 16 years and was a member of the Norcross Masonic Lodge No. 227 FA&M for 60 years.
