Former GAC Running Back Charged With Assault

Caleb King, recently cut by the Minnesota Vikings, is formally charged in the beating of another man outside a birthday party.

Caleb King, a former football star for Greater Atlanta Christian Schools and Parkview High School, has been formally charged in the April beating of a man outside a birthday party in Minnesota. The Anoka County Attorney's Office in Minnesota issued a press release regarding the charges on Aug. 10. King, a 24-year-old Lilburn resident, has been charged with third-degree assault and fifth-degree assault for allegedly punching a man in the face, while both were at a birthday party, according to the release. The victim suffered a skull fracture and a nasal fracture, and he received 19 stitches to repair some of the injuries. “Uncontrolled anger mixed with alcohol leads to dangerous situations,” Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo said in the …

Former GAC, UGA Running Back Released After Alleged Assault

Rookie running back Caleb King was released from jail without any charges.

Caleb King, a rookie running back for the Minnesota Vikings and former player for Greater Atlanta Christian and Parkview High, was released from jail Tuesday after being locked up for alleged assaulting a man, according to the Pioneer Press. King, who was released by the Vikings team, does not have any charges against him. He was jailed for three days under the suspicion of third-degree assault in Oak Grove, Minn. He allegedly beat a 22-year-old outside of a party last weekend, causing injury to his skull and nose. Assistant Anoka County attorney Paul Young told the Pioneer Press that the case is still being reviewed, making it premature to issue charges. Caleb King, a former football star for Greater Atlanta Christian Schools and Parkview High, has been arrested for suspicion of beating another man, according to an Associated Press report on the Gwinnett Daily Post. The article states that King, who is signed as a rookie free agent for the Minnesota Vikings, has been jailed but not charged for the incident. King is accused of punching the victim, 22, repeatedly and throwing him headfirst to the ground outside a birthday party, according to the AP article.
