Follow Your Nose to Bleu House Market

Each week, Norcross Patch profiles a different business in the area. This week, we talk to Nicole Adams, co-owner and manager of Bleu House Market.

When her parents wanted to expand Bleu House Café, Nicole Adams took over Bleu House Market across the street. With Chef Bryan Wyatt, she offers such signature dishes as the Bleu House – chicken salad and greens on a croissant – and the Thrasher – salmon, Asian noodles, greens, and peanut sauce on a wrap. And in the dessert case are French macarons made by Adams. But what really draws customers, Adams says, is the “barbecue,” meats cooked by Wyatt in a smoker. “We call that our open sign – we’ll crank it up in the morning and people just follow their nose," Adams said. Barbecue can mean salmon, pulled pork, pork chops, ribs or the occasional veggie. It can mean a beef brisket cooked slowly in a cherry vanilla cream soda sauce or turkey …

Local Merchants Cross Fingers for RockTenn

Restaurant and shop owners say they are prepared for a big hit if the multi-billion-dollar company’s HQ moves out of Norcross.

John Adams owns the Bleu House Café and Bleu House Market in Historic Norcross. Confidentiality agreements and hazy wooing eh? Those policies protect who? Seems like Norcross citizens deserve better than a hazy woo. 500 jobs might call for more than hazy woo woos. Somebody, some confidential somebody, doesn't want citizens to know what is being done, which means they don't want the responsibility for the damage.   more ›

Bleu Deux: New Market Features Fresh, Local Food

A new downtown market and shop features local produce and products but hits on international flavors.

Behind the row of iconic brick storefronts that most people think of as downtown Norcross, there is a perky little blue home. No wait, there are two. The first Bleu House is home to the busy café and catering business, the second is a recently opened market that has more than a few more stories behind it. "My parents really wanted to expand [the Bleu House Café]," said Nicole Adams, who manages the Bleu House Market owned by her parents John and Maureen, "I snuck in the boutique side." In the elegantly appointed retro-antique shop, you'll find Black Lava Sea Salt, an Heirloom Tomato Cookbook and handmade '50s aprons. You'll also find fruits and vegetables recently plucked from red Georgia clay. "It is important to eat food that is as fresh…
