Restaurant Owner and Author to Bring her 'Bible of Southern Cooking' to Norcross
Owner of the Blue Willow Inn Restaurant, Billie Van Dyke, will be in Norcross, July 9 from 2 to 4 p.m., to sign her latest cookbook "The Bible of Southern Cooking."
Growing up in Savannah, GA, Billie Van Dyke was surrounded by good Southern cooking from an early age. As soon as she had the chance, she began putting all that she had learned to work and opened her own catering business in Social Circle, GA where she lived with her late husband Louis. In September 1985, a local Social Circle restaurant in a small three room house closed its doors. At that same time Billie sadly put her first grade grandson who she was caring for on the school bus. In talking to her neighbors at the bus stop, all of whom knew of her catering business, she was encouraged to buy and re-open that restaurant.
