News Nearby: Bomb Threat Made in Gwinnett Bank Robbery

Gwinnett County Police spokesman says the suspect gave the teller a note saying he had a bomb.

Gwinnett County Police are looking for a man who is suspected of robbing a Chase Bank in Duluth on Monday, Feb. 18, after threatening that he had a bomb. According to a press release emailed Tuesday afternoon, police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said the robbery was reported at the Chase Bank at 3780 Old Norcross Road around 1:15 p.m. Monday. "The suspect gave a note to a teller indicating that he had a bomb and wanted money," Smith wrote. The suspect is described as an average-built white male in his late 40s or early 50s wearing blue jeans, tab jacket and black knit cap. (See photo attached to this file). Update: Third Suspect in Gwinnett Bank Robbery in Custody

Marcus Rashed Rutledge was wanted in connection to an armed robbery at a Wells Fargo in Lawrenceville in December.

From Lawrenceville Patch Updated Wednesday, Jan. 9, 9:55 a.m. The Gwinnett County Sheriff's website has update Rutledge's entry. He has been charged with armed robbery and is being held without bond. His address is listed as 2800 Herrington Woods Ct, Apt. 4-201, Lawrenceville. According to the Gwinnett County Sheriff's website, the third suspect in an armed robbery at a Lawrenceville bank in December is now in their custody. Marcus Rashed Rutledge was booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center at 5:15pm Tuesday.  Gwinnett County Police believe Rutledge was one of the gunmen who held up the Wells Fargo on Lawrenceville Highway on December 28th. Video: Police Seek Suspects in Gwinnett Bank Robbery

Gwinnett Police say three men robbed a Wells Fargo bank in Lawrenceville. They have arrested one suspect and are still looking for two others.

From Lawrenceville Patch One suspect in an armed robbery of a Wells Fargo bank in Lawrenceville last month is now in police custody. However, Gwinnett County Police are still looking for two potential accomplices in the crime. On Friday, December 28th, two black males wearing masks walked into the Wells Fargo bank at 3065 Lawrenceville Highway just before 9:30am. This branch is located in the parking lot of the Walmart Neighborhood Market. The two men inside the bank have been identified by GCPD as 26 year old Jamar Terrell of 2769 Herrington Woods Road, Lawrenceville and 24 year old Marcus “Bankhead” Rutledge. Wells Fargo Offers Reward for Information on Robbery

Two men robbed a Wells Fargo bank on Killian Hill Road Sept. 16, and the bank is offering as much as $5,000 for information leading to the suspects' arrest.

Gwinnett County police are looking for two suspects in a Sept. 16 robbery at Wells Fargo on Killian Hill in unincorporated Lilburn, and the bank is offering as much as $5,000 for information leading to the suspects' arrest. One suspect is about 6'1 to 6'2" tall and has a medium build. He was clean-shaven and in his early 20s. The other is about 5'2", thin, clean-shaven and also in his early 20s. both men are black, Corporal Jake Smith said in an emailed release. The men entered the bank three times on the day of the robbery, changing clothes each time before re-entering the bank. The third time, they handed the teller a note demanding money. RBC Bank in Lilburn Robbed (Video)

Lilburn police are asking for help in locating the suspect.

The RBC Bank in Lilburn was robbed Thursday morning of an undisclosed amount of money, Lilburn police said. The suspect is a while male in his late 40s, about 5'11 to 6 feet tall. He has thinning dark hair and was wearing a Minnesota Vikings NFL jersey with the number "29" and the name C. Taylor on the back. The man was driving a maroon-colored, late-model Chevrolet Corsica with damage on the front passenger door. The man entered the bank and gave a note to the teller that demanded money. The bank gave him money, along with a dye pack that exploded, releasing red dye. "The suspect may have red dye stains on his person and may have possbile injuries" from the deployment of the dye pack, Captain Ben Haynes said in an emailed statement. …

Bank Robbery Suspect Shot by Police Dies

The man is suspected of robbing Bank of America branch in unincorporated Suwanee.

Updated: 4:10 p.m. A man suspected of robbing a Suwanee-area bank Tuesday who was shot by Gwinnett Police after a chase that ended in a shootout in unincorporated Duluth died of his injuries after being transported to the hospital. Police say the man is alleged to have robbed a Bank of America branch on Old Peachtree Road at Sever Road. The police investigation revealed that a black male entered the Bank of America branch, displayed a handgun and robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of money, according to an emailed press release from Gwinnett Police containing details. Holcomb Bridge Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

Gwinnett police have detained man in connection with Saturday morning robbery of Fifth/Third Bank.

Today Gwinnett police announced the arrest of a DeKalb man suspected of robbing the Fifth/Third Bank on Holcomb Bridge Road in the unincorporated area of Norcross on Saturday morning. Hakika Ervin, described as a tall black man with curly hair and a beard, entered the bank Saturday morning around 9:20. Wearing a hooded sweatshirt, he approached the teller counter and demanded cash and fled with approximately $2,800. A security camera recorded the tag number of a blue BMW X5 SUV leaving the scene and police were able to trace to vehicle to 39-year-old Ervin who was living in an apartment complex on Tilly Mill Road. Bank Robbery Witness Says It Was 'No-Brainer' to Help Catch Suspects

Ivy Cromer had the most eventful and unexpected day of the year in Lilburn on Friday. Cromer, 57, was the witness and 911 caller who helped police apprehend the four people who allegedly committed the Wells Fargo robbery on Lawrenceville Highway.  When he pulled into the bank's  parking lot at 9 a.m to make a transaction, he immediately saw something fishy when he noticed a woman and two men walking into the bank's entrance.  "I was driving by the front door of the bank about 15 feet from them," said Cromer. "I saw the masks go on, the hoodies go up and the gun come out, so I knew what was going on and what I was afraid of." Cromer then drove across Highway 29 to wait.
