What You Need to Know to Cast Your Vote Tuesday

Polls open Nov. 6 from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Tuesday, here's what you should know before you go.

On Tuesday, Nov. 6, Georgia voters will decide on who will be next the next president of the United States. And voters will also make a choice on whether to amend the state constitution and vote on a number of contested state and local races. Here are a few things to know before you head to the polls: What to bring: Georgia voters are required to show a photo ID. Survey Says Voters Oppose VLT Gambling

A survey by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution shows differing results from an 11Alive poll.

A recent survey conducted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution shows that most metro Atlanta residents are against expanding gambling for video lottery terminals to fund the HOPE scholarship and pre-kindergarten. According to the AJC, 53 percent of 625 local voters in the poll said they oppose "video-style slot machines." Forty percent of the ones surveyed said they were in support of it, and the other 7 percent were undecided. Do you favor VLTs for funding education? Why does it have different wording on the Republican and Democrat ballots? That makes no sense. The wording on both is really vague too. I actually agree with Dan O'Leary (who I want to just go away) that the wording is definitely flawed.   more ›

What to Expect on the July 31st Ballot

Check out what Gwinnett voters will see on the ballot.

The primary elections are just around the corner. Poll: Georgians Support VLT Gambling to Fund HOPE

Fifty-six percent of Georgians favor video lottery terminals in a casino-style environment to fund education, according to a recent 11Alive poll.

A recent poll by 11Alive found that a majority of Georgians support video lottery terminals in a casino-style environment to help fund the HOPE scholarship and pre-kindergarten. Out of the 1,292 registered Georgia voters polled, 56 percent said they favored the use of VLTs. Widespread support was found across all ages, genders and political parties, including conservatives and Republican voters. Thirty-four percent said they opposed it, and 11 percent were unsure.
