Norcross Cookie Line Has Good Karma

Kriya Kitchen, a line of locally baked goodies, is being gobbled up across the Southeast.

Down an easily overlooked lane off Langford Parkway in the City of Norcross, Jane Coulter is baking cookies. But this is no Betty Crocker enterprise: In a massive industrial oven about 1000 cookies puff up every week, filling the functional space with an intoxicating aroma peanut butter, chocolate chips and even Georgia peach tea-infused shortbread. Coulter is chief baker, CEO and “kookie alchemist” for Kriya Kitchen, which recently struck a distribution deal with Whole Foods across the Southeast.  Her gourmet cookies use natural and locally sourced ingredients—and they’re baked with more than a little karmic purpose.
