Cops: Screaming Woman Scares Away Armed Man

Inside the Police Reports: A Norcross woman told authorities that someone with a gun came to her door and struck her, so she yelled at him and he left.

A Norcross woman told police that she had scared away an armed man with her screaming. According to the Norcross Police report, the incident occurred at the Garden Plaza Hotel at 6050 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. on a recent Sunday. The woman told police that a man came to her room around 5:20 p.m. When she opened the door, he struck her with a handgun. She started screaming and he ran away. The victim described the suspect as being a black male who was in his 30s and wearing a gray hat and shirt with a black leather jacket. Police advised her to call again if she sees the man a second time. There's no mention in the report about anyone else seeing the suspect or incident. Gwinnett Police Needs Public’s Help to Find Suspect in Assault, Kidnapping

Ricky Knight is sought after a May 3 incident at the Retreat at Arc Way Apartments.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is seeking help in finding a man who is suspected of several offenses, including aggravated assault and kidnapping. Ricky Knight, 33, is wanted in connection with an incident earlier this month at the Retreat at Arc Way Apartments, located at 4000 Northridge Way on the Lilburn and Norcross border near Beaver Ruin. Police said in a media release that Knight is being charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, third-degree cruelty to children, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Three Arrested for Kidnapping, Theft in Norcross Area

Suspects allegedly choked and assaulted a woman because of an ex-boyfriend.

One woman and two men were arrested last week for false imprisonment, kidnapping, motor vehicle theft and aggravated assault, all because of an ex-boyfriend. On Jan. 11 around 11:07 p.m., Gwinnett County Police officers met with a 19-year-old woman in response to a carjacking that took place at Indian Trail Apartments at 1100 Indian Trail Lilburn Road in unincorporated Norcross. The report notes that the woman was upset and crying and had red marks around her neck. She explained to police how two Norcross area brothers, 18 and 17, and an 18-year-old woman had assaulted her in the apartment complex and drove away in her car. A man is arrested for allegedly cutting his neighbor and stealing his cell phone last month after accusing the neighbor of burglarizing his property.

A man was arrested for allegedly cutting his neighbor and stealing his cell phone last month after accusing the neighbor of burglarizing his property. The incident occurred Dec. 29 around 5 p.m. at an apartment complex on the 1100 block of Meadowood Commons Drive in the City of Norcross. According to the police report, the neighbor, a 19-year-old man, said the suspect stopped him in the parking lot. Having been burglarized recently, the man believed his neighbor was either responsible for it or knew who did it. The 19-year-old told Norcross Police that the man had asked him several times to either return the items or die.
