Cake, Baby Jackets Found Outside Vandalized Apartment Gates

Inside the Police Reports: At Arbor Mill Apartments in the Norcross area, Gwinnett Police found padlocks placed at the front gates that prohibited anyone from entering and exiting.

This must have been a strange sight: Gwinnett police found a birthday cake and baby jackets outside an apartment complex's front gates, which someone had vandalized by placing padlocks on it. According to the police report, an officer responded to a suspicious activity call at Arbor Mill Apartments off Graves Road in unincorporated Norcross around 3:30 a.m. one Sunday in November. Dispatch had explained that no one could enter or exit the complex because two men had placed locks on the front gates. The officer observed that the padlocks had been placed on the motor portion of the gates, which indeed prohibited it from opening even after using the access code. Man Arrested for Norcross Apartment Fire

Julius Macklin was charged with first-degree arson for allegedly attempting to start a fire in unincorporated Norcross on April 28.

A man was arrested and charged with first-degree arson around midnight Monday in connection to a Norcross-area apartment fire. Gwinnett County Fire investigators apprehended 21-year-old Julius Macklin for an April 28 fire incident that occurred at Arbor Mill Apartments, located on the 1800 block of Graves Road. In May, investigators filed arson charges against Macklin because they believed he "intentionally tried to set fire to combustible materials with the intent to start a fire" in the apartment, according to a press release from Gwinnett Fire spokesman Capt. Eric Eberly. Macklin had previously resided at Arbor Mill. Macklin has been booked in the Gwinnett County Detention Center. The first-degree arson charge is a felony that carries a…

Kidnapping, Shooting Reported at Arbor Mill Apartments

A man was shot and another was kidnapped last Saturday.

A man was shot and another was kidnapped last Saturday at an apartment complex in unincorporated Norcross. Units tended to the shot victim and the kidnapped victim was located later unharmed, according to police. According to the Gwinnett County police report, the incident took place at Arbor Mill Apartments on Graves Road around 7:30 a.m. Feb. 25. Three men and one woman, ages ranging from 19 to 23, met with police at the complex's entrance and told them how three to four men came into their apartment and shot one of their friends. The men had masks and guns. Police went to the apartment and found the shot victim behind the residence. The victim was treated on scene.
