Investigating The Unknown: The College Street Playhouse

Will Aymerich and Norcross Paranormal investigate the College Street Playhouse in Norcross, GA, home to the renowned Lionheart Theatre.

The days are getting shorter and the sunlight is no longer as warming as it has been. I don’t know why but for some reason for many of us this is the weather that make us think about the scary and unknown parts of our world.  For others of us, like me, it just gives us the opportunity to share our knowledge about the unknown with others.

For years now I have been investigating and uncovering the unknown here in our beloved city of Norcross, GA. Staying late nights in some of the historic homes, buildings and business looking to validate some of the spooky events shared with me. As well as trying to tie these findings with some of the known history of the location I am investigating. Sometimes though, we can’t but we still get some very interesting findings.

The video posted here is my team's investigation of the College Street Playhouse, home of the Lion Heart Theatre.  None of what we caught here truly matches the history we have on the location. Still we could not deny that we experienced something unique.

The location was formally the Norcross Methodist Church. The church was originally organized as Flint Hill Methodist Church in the 1820s and was located about a mile from Norcross. When the Southern Railway was completed in 1871 the Flint Hill church was relocated to Norcross and renamed the Norcross Methodist Church.

The original windows were later replaced with arched stained glass windows, which you can still see now... The Building has now become the Norcross Cultural Arts and Community Center, since its opening many people have reported hearing and seeing paranormal activity, especially in the old chapel, which is now become known as the College Street Playhouse.

The following is the evidence taken from the investigation done in the location in early 2009. In it is audio taken from an EVP/EMF session. The beeping you hear is our Cell Sensor EMF meter going off.  It is a meter equipped with a light and beeper so you can both audio and visually detect when it goes off. We use it similar to how many teams use a K2 meter, both are devices that read electromagnetic fields in the air.

It is believed that spirits are electromagnetic energy that can trigger these devices. We communicate with the entity by asking it to trigger off the device in an agreed upon manner to answer our questions. This evidence on this video clip was captured by Roxy Rodriguez, Roy Wooley, Kathryn Grant and myself.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
