The Norcross Patch calendar is full of news about events coming up in the weeks ahead. Here's a look at five upcoming community events.
1. Qualifying week is Aug. 26-30 for those wishing to throw their hats into the ring for the mayor's seat or one of the two City Council seats up for re-election. Click here for more details.
2. Town Hall Meeting with Congressman Rob Woodall is Monday, Aug. 26. The United Peachtree Corners Civic Association is sponsoring the meeting. It will be held 7:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5575 Peachtree Parkway.
3. Meadocreek High School's fall sports are in gear. Be sure to check out the softball, volleyball and football teams this week. For more information, click here.
4. Whistle Stop Farmers' Market, Tuesday, Aug. 27, 4 - 8 p.m., Thrasher Park, near downtown Norcross. Click here for more details.
5. Summer Concert Series, ends Friday, Aug. 30. "AIA - The Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band" will perform on stage in Thrasher Park. Don't forget a donation of canned goods for Norcross' "CAN Do Food Drive." Festivities begins at 7:30 p.m.
