The Norcross Patch calendar is full of news about events coming up in the weeks ahead. Here's a look at five upcoming community events.
1. 'Flight' starring Denzel Washington will show at the Cultural Arts & Community Center. These special movie days happen the second and fourth Mondays of the month. Date and time: Sept. 9, 1 p.m. Place: 10 College Street
2. Whistle Stop Farmers' Market, Tuesday, Sept. 10, 4 - 8 p.m., Thrasher Park, near downtown Norcross. Click here for more details.
3. A self-guided hike along the banks of the Chattahoochee at Jones Bridge Park will be offered by Gwinnett Parks and Recreation. Cost is $5 a person. Must pre-register online at www.gwinnettparks.com with code: PPCC14113 or call 678.277.0920. Date and time: Sept. 13, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
4. Norcross High Blue Devils play the North Gwinnett Bulldogs at home. Defending state champ and Region 7-AAAAAA Champ Norcross faces their arch-nemesis in the first region matchup for both teams. Game time: 8 p.m., Sept. 13
5. The Gateway International Food & Music Festival takes place Sept. 14, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Lillian Webb Park. There will be live music featuring Orquesta Macuba, a food market, arts exhibits and more.
