PugFest 2011 Comes to Gwinnett

Every year, on the last Saturday in October, SEPRA (Southeastern Pug Rescue & Adoption) holds its big fundraiser at the County Fairgrounds.

On Saturday the exhibit hall at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds was wall-to-wall pugs. Well pugs and pug mix breeds.

At the last afternoon count the attendance was 400+ fur babies (we DON'T call them dogs) and their people. The walls inside the hall were lined with vendors.

Everything from arts & crafts, photographers, food (human) and more. Center stage had contests like, oldest pug, curliest tail, best kisser, talent, who traveled the farthest and, of course, costumes. Lots of costumes.

SEPRA does tremendous work all year rescuing Pugs in need and finding the best forever homes. Pugs of all ages, some with serious medical issues, are fostered throughout the network until just the right home is found. The army of volunteers from all over the country ensure that every Pug that comes in receives the best temporary home and care possible.
