Ultimate Guide to 2013 Norcross Summer Concert Series

Here's what you need to know about the annual event that kicks off this Friday (May 24).

It's Memorial Day weekend, and for Norcross locals, they know what that means: the start of the Summer Concert Series.

The first night of music officially kicks off Friday (May 24) with Terry Lee & The GT's, who will be playing rock 'n' roll covers, tributes and party favorites. A different band will perform at every show this season, which are scheduled for every other Friday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Thrasher Park.

As always, guests are welcome to use the chairs and tables in front of the stage while enjoying the music, but they're often reserved in advanced before every concert. Click here to get more details on how to get a table and pricing options.

If you don't end up snagging a table, no worries; bring a blanket and lawn chair instead to lay out on the grass.

And to everyone attending: Don't forget to bring something to eat. Many of the downtown restaurants such as Paizanos and Bleu House Market offer to-go dinners that are sure to leave those taste buds satisfied.

Grab some drinks, too. Alcohol is allowed, but glass containers aren't welcome.

One last thing: The Norcross Summer Concert Series is a "CAN DO" food collection site, so bring non-perishable food items and canned goods. They'll benefit the Norcross Cooperative Ministry, which feeds thousands of people in the community every year.

Going back to the music, here's the lineup for the whole season:

May 24: Terry Lee & The GT’s, who plays rock 'n' roll covers, tributes and party favorites

June 7: 7 Bridges, which is an ultimate Eagles tribute band

June 21: Continental Dance Orchestra, a 1940’s big band that plays bebop and swing
