Get some blues, beer and theatre this weekend.

Ready for your weekend to start? Get ready because startin Thursday, downtown Norcross has events that you don't want to miss.

begins at the on Thursday and runs through Sunday, June 24. As a Onion Man Productions show, Summer Harvest 2012 features 10-minute plays that are written by nine local playwrights, performed by 30 actors and directed by eight directors. Also Thursday evening, best-selling author will be in town to do a book signing on his latest novel, "XO." A quick synopsis of the gripping page-turner: Agent Kathryn Dance must catch the obsessed stalker of a young country music vixen before it’s too late, but the vixen's innocent exchange with a fan leads her into a treacherous, terrifying world of obsession. The free event will take place at the Norcross Cultural Arts and Community Center from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Saturday will have lots of goodies, but before then, check out musical duo Meleah and Jared at for an eclectic mix of pop, country and rock songs starting 9 p.m. Friday. also has Luke James playing Friday and Lash Brooks on Saturday, both at 7:30 p.m.

Downtown's annual will be in full swing all day Saturday. While restaurants and shops will have blueberry-inspired treats, there will be other activities that you don't want to miss.

From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. will be hosting its second backyard barbecue with a luau, a Cuban pig roast, live music and beverages. Then at 4 p.m., head over to for a mini beerfest with concoctions from Monday Night Brewing, Terrapin Beer Company, Red Hare Brewing and SweetWater Brewery.

Afterward, check out the blues music at , which will have an entire lineup from 5:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Truett Lollis, T-Grease Johnson and Little G Weevil are a part of the evening's bill, so grab a lawn chair or blanket and lay out in the park after enjoying some beer and food.
