Wrestlers From Norcross Schools Head to State Tournament

Greater Atlanta Christian, Norcross High and Meadowcreek High all have wrestlers competing in the state tournament, which will be held Feb. 14-16 in Macon, Ga.

Norcross High, Greater Atlanta Christian School and Meadowcreek High all have wrestlers who have qualified for the traditional state tournament this week.

The tournament takes place Feb. 14-16 in Macon, Ga., according to the Georgia High School Association. Fans may watch the match live via GHSA.tv for a nominal fee, or after the conclusion of the tournament for free.

According to Gwinnett Prep Sports, here are all the Norcross-area wrestlers qualified for state:

Norcross Blue Devils: Rudy Guillen (138), Michael Cunningham (120) and Michael Gaylor (160)

Meadowcreek Mustangs: Rene Deluna (132), OG Harden (170) and Eden Harden (145)

GAC Spartans: Trent Scates (138), Hunter Hemmings (106), Brandon Braldey (113), Kyle Politz (120) and Aiden Jarrett (160)

Norcross' Guillien has been called the "best kept secret in wrestling" by Gwinnett Prep Sports.

Last year, GAC finished in second place for the Class AA traditional wrestling tournament, which is the school's first traditional state trophy. Another new school record was set when 11 GAC wrestlers made it to the state tournament with five senior wrestlers placing in the tournament.
